Refrigerated vehicles sales down by 10.9% YOY in Jan 2023

A refrigerated vehicle is a closed box-type special transport vehicle used to transport frozen or fresh goods. It is a market segment in the field of special vehicle industry. According to the terminal registration data, in January 2023, 2,891 units refrigerated vehicles were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 10.9% and a month-on-month decrease of 7.1%.

In the four years from 2018 to 2021, the sales of refrigerated vehicles have been increasing year-on-year, but sales in January 2023 continued the downward trend in 2022. According to research and analysis, the main reasons are:

First, the year-on-year growth rate of the macro economy has slowed down, and the demand for refrigerated vehicles in various industries has decreased.

Second, due to the impact of the epidemic in the early stage, the profits of most enterprises have declined, and the supply of goods exported has decreased.

Third, residents' income has decreased and their consumption capacity has weakened.

Fourth, the price of oil has risen, and the transportation cost of refrigerated vehicles has increased.
