Heavy truck sales in February rose 15% year-on-year and 50% month-on-month

March 10, 2023, China, In February 2023, about 68,000 units heavy trucks were sold in China, a month-on-month increase of 50%, a year-on-year increase of 15%, and a net increase of about 9,000 units. From January to February, a total of 117,000 units were sold in the heavy truck market, a year-on-year decrease of 25%.
Specifically, FAW Jiefang sold about 11,000 heavy trucks in February 2023; from January to February 2023, the cumulative sales of Jiefang heavy trucks were about 18,700, with a market share of about 16%.
Sinotruk sold about 19,000 heavy trucks in February this year, a year-on-year increase of 58%; its cumulative sales from January to February were about 32,500, and its market share rose to 27.9%. At present, Sinotruk's heavy truck exports account for nearly half of the industry's total exports.
Dongfeng Company sold about 13,000 heavy trucks in February, a year-on-year increase of 38%. From January to February this year. Dongfeng Company sold about 20,500 heavy trucks of various types, with a market share of about 17.5%, ranking second in the industry.
Shaanxi Automobile Group sold about 11,000 heavy trucks of various types in February, and sold about 20,400 heavy trucks from January to February 2023, a year-on-year increase of 32%, with a market share of 17.5%.
In February, Foton Motor sold about 7,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 19%. Its cumulative sales from January to February this year were about 12,700 units, with a market share of about 10.8%, an increase of 2.7 percentage points.
Dayun heavy trucks sold 1,769 units in February this year, a year-on-year increase of 42%; the cumulative sales from January to February were 3,041 units, ranking sixth in the industry, and its market share rose to 2.6% from January to February.
Jianghuai Automobile sold about 1,400 heavy trucks in February this year, ranking seventh in the industry; its cumulative sales from January to February were 2,130, with a market share of 1.8%.
XCMG Heavy Truck sold about 1,300 units in February, a year-on-year increase of 69%; from January to February, it sold about 2,118 units, ranking eighth in the industry, with a market share of 1.8%.
SAIC Hongyan sold about 500 heavy trucks in February. From January to February this year, it sold about 1,107 heavy trucks, with a market share of about 0.9%.
