Diesel engine sales down by 36.48% YOY from Jan to Jun 2022 in China

According to the latest data released by China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association, in June 2022, domestic internal combustion engine sales were 3,883,700 units, a month-on-month increase of 18.39% while a year-on-year decrease of 2.92%; from January to June, domestic internal combustion engine sales totaled 21.452 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 14.42%.

In June 2022, the sales volume of multi-cylinder diesel engines for commercial vehicles were 129,100 units, increased by 4.96% MOM and decreased by 47.63% YOY; from January to June, the cumulative sales of commercial vehicle multi-cylinder diesel engines were 906,100 units, a year-on-year decrease of 50.80%.

In June 2022, domestic sales of diesel engines were 350,400 units, a month-on-month increase of 8.28% and a year-on-year decrease of 30.05%; from January to June, the cumulative sales of diesel engines were 2,289,500 units, a year-on-year decrease of 36.48%.

In June, the sales of multi-cylinder diesel engines were 307,000 units, a month-on-month increase of 12.18% and a year-on-year decrease of 29.33%; from January to June, the cumulative sales of multi-cylinder diesel engines were 2,006,600 units, a year-on-year decrease of 36.11%. From January to June, the top ten diesel engine companies in sales were Weichai, Yuchai, Quanchai, Yunnei, Xinchai, JMC, Jiefang, Foton Cummins, Honeycomb Power, and Dongfeng Cummins. The top ten cumulative sales accounted for 76.04% of the total.

In June, the sales of multi-cylinder diesel engines for commercial vehicles were 129,100 units, a month-on-month increase of 4.96% and a year-on-year decrease of 47.63%; the cumulative sales from January to June were 906,100 units, a year-on-year decrease of 50.80%. The top ten companies in terms of sales volume are Weichai, JMC, Foton Cummins, Yunnei, Yuchai, Quanchai, Jiefang, SDEC, JAC, and Dongfeng Cummins, and the top ten sales account for 87.57% of the total.
