Foton Released March Numbers: 12,000 Heavy Trucks and 43,000 Light Trucks Sold

On April 3, Foton released its heavy and light truck sales volume for March. According to the statistics, its medium-and heavy-duty truck sales for March of this year reached 15,858 units, up 2.14 percent year on year. In the first three months, its medium-and heavy-duty truck sales volume reached 32,421 units, up 3.34% from the same period of last year.

In March, Heavy-duty truck sales dropped 0.50 percent to 11,581 units, accounting for 73.03 percent of the total medium-and heavy-duty truck sales. In the first three months, sales of heavy-duty trucks totaled 23,677 units, increasing 3.07 percent year on year.

The joint venture Foton Daimler also reported sales of 11602 medium-and heavy duty trucks in March, down by 0.48 percent year on year. In the first three months, its medium-and heavy duty truck sales stood at 23716 units, increasing by 3.12 percent from the same period last year.

Light truck sales have been among Foton’s top performance and in March this year it saw a slight increase of 2.24 percent year-on-year to 42,914 units. In the first three months, around 76,460 light trucks were sold, down by 10.23 percent year on year.
