Recently, relevant representatives of CRRC and Cummins China held a friendly discussion in Beijing to exchange views on the country's dual-carbon strategy and the State Council's promotion of large-scale equipment renewal initiatives to build a strong transportation country and improve the green transformation of rail transit equipment, and conducted constructive discussions on further application cooperation of hydrogen energy in the locomotive field.
In response to the country's important measures to promote large-scale equipment renewal to accelerate the construction of a new development pattern and promote high-quality development, CRRC continues to be committed to technological innovation and product upgrades, accelerating the transformation of old railway diesel locomotives to new energy, and has deeply carried out locomotive product development and new energy transformation supporting work with "diesel engine + power battery", "pure power battery" and "hydrogen fuel cell + power battery" as power sources, shouldering the national mission to accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation of railway equipment.
As a leader in power solutions, Cummins provides a new generation of QSK19/38 power packs for CRRC's new energy shunting locomotives. This series of engines has obtained the EU IIIA emission certificate for EU railway diesel locomotives, and achieves better power distribution and efficient use of energy through intelligent control systems.

In addition to the more efficient in-cylinder combustion technology upgrade, the technical upgrades of this power pack product also include:
Integral ball-milled cast iron piston, cylinder durability increased by 10%-15%;
Modular high-pressure common rail fuel system, precisely controlled electronic injectors that can achieve multiple injections, smoother combustion process, 50% improvement in idle stability, 50% improvement in cold start performance, 18% improvement in load response performance, and 80% reduction in noise compared with the previous generation of fuel system engines;
The two-stage filtration nanomaterial fuel filtration system ensures the reliable operation of the fuel system and a 500-hour maintenance interval;
Advanced and rich electronic monitoring and processing systems further improve engine diagnostic efficiency.
This series of power packs has been gradually installed on major shunting locomotive lines of CRRC, truly realizing the efficient use of energy, ensuring that the locomotive can provide stable power output under various working conditions, while greatly reducing locomotive emissions and maintaining low noise operation.
