May 17, 2023, Beijing, China, Recently, the 5G+L4 level fully electric intelligent heavy truck, jointly developed by Utopilot and SAIC Hongyan, officially commenced autonomous driving testing and operations at the Jingtang Port. This marks another milestone in the commercialization of autonomous driving by SAIC Hongyan and Utopilot.
The SAIC Hongyan 5G+L4 level fully electric intelligent heavy truck leverages autonomous driving visual perception, laser positioning, and planning control capabilities to deliver efficient, precise, and reliable operations at the port. It also features centimeter-level high-precision positioning capability, enabling predictive perception in complex traffic scenarios.
With the integration of various smart technologies, the SAIC Hongyan 5G+L4 level fully electric intelligent heavy truck significantly enhances port operational efficiency and provides a reliable solution for building a "green ecological port."
In addition to deep collaboration with Jingtang Port and Caofeidian Port, Utopilot and SAIC Hongyan continue to explore the feasibility of autonomous driving in various scenarios, facilitating the commercialization of unmanned driving technology.
Currently, the 5G+L4 level fully electric intelligent heavy truck jointly developed by Utopilot and SAIC Hongyan has completed the first "reduction in human workforce" operational testing on a public road at Donghai Bridge in China, taking an important step towards intelligent heavy truck development. It has also accumulated over 5 million kilometers of real-world operational mileage and conducted 180,000 automatic driving container transports in high-speed scenarios at Yangshan Port. With advanced intelligent driving data and precise operational experience, it promotes efficient, green, safe, and unmanned normal operations in specific areas such as ports and mines.
In the future, SAIC Hongyan will deepen its cooperation with Utopilot, promote the commercialization of autonomous driving in various working condition scenarios, and lead the high-quality development of intelligent heavy trucks.
