CIMC Group and Ansteel Group to cooperate in hydrogen production project

July 20, 2022, Shenzhen, China, Lately, the strategic cooperation and exchange meeting between CIMC Group and Ansteel Group was held in Shenzhen. This is the second meeting between the two sides after two years. The two sides jointly summarized the results of cooperation, exchanged development strategies, and jointly sought to deepen cooperation and in-depth development.

Since CIMC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Ansteel Group for the first time in 2009, the two parties have maintained a good relationship and renewed the strategic cooperation agreement many times. On August 12, 2020, Chairman Tan Chengxu of Ansteel Group led a team to visit CIMC and renewed the strategic cooperation agreement, which marked the cooperation between the two groups has entered a new stage of development.

It is understood that in the past two years, CIMC and Ansteel have further deepened their strategic cooperation, and a number of cooperation projects have been launched one after another, and important progress has been made. Among them, the coke oven gas project and the logistics special line pilot project are both key projects that have made breakthroughs since Chairman Tan Chengxu's last visit. At present, the coke oven gas-to-LNG co-production hydrogen project of CIMC and Ansteel is about to start construction and is expected to be put into operation by the end of next year. The purity of hydrogen produced by the project will reach 99.99%-99.9999%, which can provide energy for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The first phase is expected to produce 125,000 tons of LNG and 24 million cubic meters of hydrogen per year, helping Ansteel achieve its carbon reduction goal.

In the future, both parties hope to further expand the depth and breadth of cooperation, continue to innovate cooperation models, promote the healthy development of enterprises and industries on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win results, and jointly contribute value to the development of the country.
