Yuchai YCK16H hydrogen-burning engine successfully ignited

July 4, 2022, Guangxi, China, On June 30, Yuchai YCK16H hydrogen-burning engine was successfully ignited in Yulin, Guangxi. This engine has a displacement of 15.93 liters and a maximum horsepower of 560hp. It is currently the hydrogen-burning engine with the largest displacement and the largest horsepower in China. The successful ignition of Yuchai YCK16H marks another solid step for Yuchai on the zero-carbon energy power system track.

After completing the development of the light-duty hydrogen-fueled engine platform, Yuchai launched YCK16H heavy-duty direct-injection hydrogen engine, making Yuchai the only professional power system supplier in the domestic that covers light-duty and heavy-duty hydrogen internal combustion engines and fuel cell system.

◉YCK16H adopts the self-developed intelligent control system and high-efficiency air management system, which can realize two modes of equivalence ratio combustion and lean combustion, and can adjust the injection fuel pressure and intake air volume according to different fuels, and effectively play the role of different fuels;

◉YCK16H applies high-reliability fuel injection system technology, electric drive closed recirculation technology, and advanced exhaust gas recirculation technology to solve problems such as difficulty in ignition and unstable combustion of ammonia internal combustion engines;

◉YCK16H applies intelligent variable control technology. Without changing the main body of the engine, the fuel system and intelligent control software can be adjusted to convert different fuels, reducing the development cost of OEMs and better meeting customer needs.

It is reported that the natural gas engine YCK15N developed on this platform has completed the bench test and vehicle road test, and is expected to be put into mass production by the end of 2022.
