Friedrichshafen / Hanover, Germany. The digitalization and networking of rescue services is the main theme of this year’s Interschutz 2022 trade show. Electrified drives for emergency vehicles play an important role in ensuring clean and economical mobility for rescue services.
The ZF Group will present its solutions for the connectivity of rescue services and for the electrification of emergency vehicles at the Interschutz 2022 trade fair from June 20 to 25 in Hanover. At the ZF booth B26 in hall 12, the company will showcase the ZF Rescue Connect connectivity solution, a new modular driveline system for emergency vehicles, and the new generation of the EcoLife Offroad 2 transmission. ZF will also be represented at the trade show’s “Smart Public Safety Hub” (booth E16, hall 16), where the focus will be on the ZF Rescue Connect.
ZF networks rescue services
ZF Rescue Connect digitally networks rescue services during their operations and provides them with all important status information relating to deployed vehicles and equipment in real time. The digital solution is specially designed for manufacturers of emergency vehicles, rescue equipment, and mission-specific software. Vendor-agnostic solutions can also be beneficial for organizations carrying out safety and security work for both state and federal authorities. ZF Rescue Connect helps incident commanders and decision-makers alike handle day-to-day tasks as well as major incidents. It also lowers overall operating costs and increases the speed and focus of operations.
Modular driveline system with transmissions and electronics
ZF’s new modular driveline system for off-road vehicles is designed for hybrid or all-electric driving. It comprises a modular system of gearboxes and transfer cases as well as the corresponding power and control electronics. This includes the new generation of the EcoLife Offroad 2 driveline (or alternatively TraXon), the TC 27 and ADM 2 transfer cases as well as the all-electric CeTrax central drive with integrated power and control electronics.
EcoLife Offroad 2 transmission
The EcoLife Offroad 2 is the successor to ZF’s successful transmission in the heavy-duty special vehicle segment. The seven-speed automatic transmission delivers robust power transmission under the toughest off-road conditions. Through extensive optimization, ZF has increased torque to 3,000 newton meters while simultaneously reducing costs. ZF is presenting the new driveline technology to the public for the first time at Interschutz.
