Continental's Tire Retreading Business Grows Twice as Fast as Market

March 28, 2022, Hanover, Germany, Recently, according to overseas media reports, Continental Tire Americas (CTA) reported that the growth rate of retread tires produced by its ContiLifeCycle (CLC) licensee in the United States over the past three years was twice the market rate.

Continental continues to grow in the US refurbishment market with its ContiTread brand. The data shows that from
2019 to 2021, its retread tire sales climbed at a compound annual growth rate of 2.5%, while the compound annual growth rate of the retreading market during the same period was only 1.2%. Continental Tire is committed to further expanding its retreading business and products in the coming years.

"Retreading is a key part of our strategy in the U.S. market, and we will continue to expand the ContiLifeCycle retreading network to better serve our fleet customers across the country," said Tom Fanning, CTA's U.S. truck tire business director.

It is reported that Continental has a network of 21 CLC-licensed retreading plants in the United States, 6 of which are operated by the company's BestDrive commercial tire business unit, and 18 CLC-licensed retreading plants in Canada.
