Sinopec Cooperated with Cummins to Build Electrolyzer Production Base

December 9, 2021, Guangdong, China, The Enze Fund, initiated by Sinopec Capital Corporation, and Cummins jointly invested in a 50:50 ratio and established a joint venture company in China, Cummins Enze (Guangdong) Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "joint venture").
The joint venture will develop, produce and sell the leading proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis hydrogen production technology in China, and use water electrolysis technology plus renewable energy hydrogen production technology to jointly promote the development of green hydrogen production solutions and make breakthroughs in bottleneck of renewable energy development.
It is reported that the production line of the joint venture will produce Cummins HyLYZER series of proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzed water hydrogen production equipment. The first phase of the 500 MW capacity will be completed in 2022 and and realize mass production. The subsequent production capacity can be expanded to 1000 MW level. At the same time, the joint venture will also provide a variety of product system solutions for the hydrogen production market, which are used in diversified application scenarios such as hydrogen refueling stations and industrial hydrogen production.
