Dongfeng Cummins Heavy-duty Engine Project Officially Signed

November 4, 2021, Hubei, China, On October 22, Dongfeng Cummins heavy-duty engine R&D and manufacture project was officially signed in Xiangyang, Hubei.

It is introduced that the project, with an investment of over RMB2 billion, will be started construction this year and completed in two years.

It is planned to build a modern assembly shop and heavy-duty engine intelligent assembly line (including assembly, test, spray and attached techniques), which can achieve mixed flow production of 8-15L diesel and natural gas engine.

At the same time, the existing L series engine processing workshop will be modified to one heavy-duty engine cylinder line and one cylinder head intelligent finishing processing line. The project is expected to achieve RMB1 billion output value in 2023 and can reach RMB20 billion in five years when reaching design capacity.

Dongfeng Cummins insists on customer-oriented and innovation-driven development. The establishment of the heavy-duty engine R&D and manufacture project will largely increase Dongfeng Cummins’ market share of heavy-duty engine, improve market competitiveness and lead the development direction of world heavy-duty engine.
