Since September 26th, SANY has been presenting 15 units of key products for the African market in the outdoor exhibition area at CAETE, China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo. The ongoing Expo is attracting exhibitors from nearly 40 African countries, representatives from UN organizations and local Chinese governments, and tens of thousands of guests.
As the chief strategic partner of the Expo, SANY’s booth themed “Building a Better Africa” is displaying machines needed for building infrastructure in Africa, including excavators, mining machinery, road machinery and port machinery.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman of SANY Group Liang Wengen declared that SANY has a special connection with Africa because it was there that SANY’s internationalization journey began. The first export order for SANY, recalled Wengen, was that of four graders purchased by a client in Morocco back in 2002. “Twenty years into SANY’s operation in Africa, we are now grasping the vigor and potential of this continent’s economic development and the vast vision for China-Africa cooperation, and we have formed a deep friendship with the African people. Our greatest desire is to forge ahead with our friends in Africa towards a brighter future,” said Wengen.
Over the past 20 years, SANY has established a robust sales and service network across Africa. Resident offices have been set up in 17 African countries, supporting over 20 well-run dealers and over 90 service centers on the continent, servicing more than 50 countries and regions. By the end of the first half of 2021, SANY’s cumulative sales volume in Africa exceeded RMB 12 billion, and the company had nearly 15,000 units of equipment in operation across Africa, ranking number one among similar enterprises in China.
Going forward, Wengen noted that SANY will put emphasis on the following three aspects:
1. Making Africa a key area on SANY’s overseas business map, centering around big projects, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure projects and the provision of more cost-effective products, services and technologies.
2. Actively exploring new fields of win-win cooperation, especially in new energy and wind power.
3. Sharing SANY’s experience in industrialization, intelligent manufacturing and digitization with African companies.
