WEY brand aims big in the worldwide market

“What will move us next” is the motto of the 2021 IAA Mobility, an international automobile and smart mobility expo held from Sept 7-12 in Munich, Germany. The high-end sub-brand WEY of Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor will respond that a new WEY will drive a way forward.
This year’s IAA will focus on mobility of the future and discuss advanced innovations and technologies, such as autonomous driving.
Based in China and expanding internationally, WEY is expected to begin its international expansion in Germany and move further into the European market on its way to competing in the world automobile industry.
WEY has set up a research and development network, which is based in Baoding, China’s Hebei province, where Great Wall Motor is also headquartered. The network spreads across seven countries and 10 regions in the European Union, North America and Asia. By integrating its R&D strength across the world, WEY aims to create more global products with compelling competitiveness.
Positioned as a brand of new-generation intelligent vehicles, WEY is committed to offering its users superior products and “thoughtful” technologies.
Targeting the European market, WEY will cater to its users with an all-around intelligent experience, which includes intelligent services, intelligent technologies and intelligent social contacts.
As an example, WEY will launch a mobile application with car, social communication and smart life as its core elements in Europe, joining hands with its users to create an intelligent ecology of the brand.
According to the marque, WEY will unveil its first brand experience center in Europe in 2022, expecting to get closer with its customers there.
Coffee 01, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle from the WEY brand, will have its global debut at the 2021 IAA Mobility in Germany.
As a model targeting the global market, Coffee 01 is a sporty utility vehicle that adopts advanced hybrid technology in hopes of eliminating range anxiety. Even driving under pure electric mode, the vehicle can run up to 150 kilometers on one charge.
In addition, the new model takes the leading position nationwide in terms of intelligent connectivity.
The highway driving-assist system mounted on the Coffee 01 can be used with a car speed under 120 km per hour. The system can carry out an automatic lane changes after a turn light is triggered by the driver.
The model is also equipped with an artificial intelligent facial recognition system, which can detect whether the driver is fatigued or distracted. Specific services and hints will be provided to improve the driver’s state, including colored lights turning on inside the car to help relieve fatigue.
Coffee 01 is expected to start opening up orders at the end of this year. The first group of deliveries will go out the first half of 2022.
As a high-end Chinese marque, WEY, together with its new Coffee 01, strides into the European market in hopes of proving that WEY-branded products have compelling strength in both competitiveness and quality of their hardware and software. It is expected to help further improve the brand’s image internationally.
With its powerful innovation and manufacturing capacities, WEY is also expected to develop into a representative of China’s intelligent manufacturing and even creation.
According to the marque, WEY will continue to compete in the global automobile market and is set to enter the North American market in 2023.
