On October 1, K08 diesel engine made by Yuchai based in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region successfully went through all the tests at China Automotive Technology & Research Center (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., fully meeting National VI Emission Standards and becoming the first diesel engine in China reaching an unprecedented high level of environmental friendliness.
Test results show that Yuchai K08’s emission of nitrogen oxide is over 40% lower than the National VI Emission Standards. In addition, its emissions of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon are close to zero. Its emissions of particulate matter (PM) is 80% lower than that of National VI Emission Standards. In addition, the particulate number released by the engine is only 22.6% of the number set by National VI Emission Standards.
Having cut its weight by 200 kg compared with its domestic counterparts, K08 diesel engine has made several technological breakthroughs and set a new benchmark for China’s diesel engine industry.
Currently, Yuchai K11, K09, K13 and S04, S06, 4Y24 engines are all set to be certified for reaching National VI Emission Standards. (www.chinatrucks.com)
