On May 26, organized by Xinhua.com “Thumbs up on Chinese Brands” - Chinese Brand Summit Forum 2017, FAW shows its strong power and finally gets the first place of “Top 100 Chinese Brands 2017” after several rounds of appraisal.
May 10 marks China’s first “Chinese Brand Day”. The setting up of the Brand Day is an important way for the nation to guide people to know Chinese brand, use Chinese brand and promote Chinese brand, indicating “Brands play a leading role” upgrading to a new height. The summit forum this time is a response to the nation’s call and a way to increase brand awareness, to share development experience and promote the brand construction by means of inviting political leaders, industrial experts and corporate representatives to trade opinions.
At the forum, the list of “Top Hundred Chinese Brands 2017” is released, on which FAW, ICBC, Huawei, Sinopec, Dongfeng are listed. According to the results of online recommendation in an early stage, FAW ranks the first place of “Top 100 China Brands 2017” in consideration of operation status, market influence, consumers’ appraisal.
Under the lead of brand strategy, FAW speeds up the self-innovation process, accelerates the structure adjustment, drives development by innovation, and improves core competitiveness by raising brand value to finally realize the sustainable development of the corporation. In 2016, FAW sells 3.148 million automobiles, up 11% year on year, surpassing the year’s sales target. The business revenue is up 9% year on year with income before tax ranking No.8 among central government controlled enterprises and profitability ranking top among Chinese automobile enterprises. In the first 4 months of 2017, FAW sells 1.076 million automobiles, up 8.4% year on year, continuing with the fast growth.
With the constant improvement of brand, FAW accelerates the “going-out” strategy. Stimulated by the “Belt and Road”, FAW has spread its overseas business in 5 regions 48 countries spanning Southeast Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America. It has 49 distributors and 227 dealers. The exported automobiles are accumulated to 260,000 units and the export value of complete vehicles and parts exceeds 5 billion Yuan.
