Sidhu Brothers first Palm Oil transporter to adapt railings on trailers
Date:2012-01-05 Source:www.chinaspv.com
www.chinaspv.com: In the palm oil business it is required that the driver will have to climb onto the tanker every now and then. When making deliveries or collecting the goods, staff may have to climb up onto the truck to check seals or to generally supervise the process.
To ensure the safety of staff during these processes, Sidhu Brothers have equipped several of their tanker-trailers with collapsible handrails. These are operated pneumatically and can be quickly erected. The mechanism is coupled to the braking system of the prime mover and while the railing is up, the truck cannot be moved. This prohibits that the truck will be driven while work is perfomed on the trailer, thus adding anohter layer of safety to the working conditions.
The tanker pictured has been certified by ExxonMobil and is now making deliveries of biodiesel to the Esso Refinery in Port Dickson, Malaysia. "We are very proud of this achievement because it contributes to safety of our people and also it is a recognition of our efforts towards safety" Jimmy Sidhu, Commercial Director of Sidhu Brothers said.
