A STRATEGY TO DRIVE THE SHIFT
Our world is changing fast – and to deliver on our purpose, we need to change with it.
As Scania moves into one of the most transformative eras in its history, we are guided by a robust strategy to secure our leading position in the industry, and support us in delivering on our purpose: to drive the shift to a sustainable transport system.
In recent years we have focused on balancing growth and profitability, as well as diversifying our product and service offering, our geographical footprint and our people and competencies. All of this has put us in a strong position in order to succeed in our changing business landscape. Scania’s current strategy, leading into the year 2025, builds on this heritage.
The strategy identifies the technologies, geographies and enablers we need to invest in to deliver on our purpose, and reduce our carbon emissions at a pace in line or even exceeding the Paris Agreement. Increasingly, we will harness autonomous, connected and electrified (ACE) technologies, integrating them into our three-pillar approach to providing sustainable transport solutions
Partnerships
Driving the shift is not something we can do on our own. Scania is involved in strategi partnerships with key stakeholder, including our customer, buyers of transport services, energy suppliers, infrastructure providers and industry peers.
Creating a sustainable transport system in line with the Paris Agreement demands close partnership and collaboration across the whole ecosystem of transport, logistics, and beyond.
Lack of infrastructure, political and legal challenges, and issues around costs and financing are just a few of the barriers to sustainable transport. Scania is working in partnerships with others across our industry, as well as government and academia, to overcome these barriers.
We work in close cooperation with society and policymakers in order to create the enabling conditions for making sustainable transport possible.
We focus on building two types of partnership: strategic cross-sector partnerships that target political change; and industry partnerships with our suppliers, customers, infrastructure providers, and others to pilot and scale solutions. They are the most efficient when combined to include all stakeholders.
Scania code of conduct
Scania’s success is based on our core values and our management system supported by our main principles, in particular our commitment to continuous improvement. This is the basis of our unique corporate culture and it gives us a strong leadership position in a world increasingly dependent on safe, sustainable and efficient transport systems. We call it “The Scania Way”.
Scania’s purpose is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment. While the core of our contribution to society is about the transformation of the transport system, it does not mean that our responsibility ends there. For Scania, sustainability is also about how we conduct our business – it is about being responsible and delivering value in our relationships and across our value chain. The more global we become, the more important it is to keep trust, transparency and ethics top of mind.
At Scania, we always strive to do the right things in the right way. We act in accordance with our culture, core values and follow all legal and compliance standards. Together with our core values and our leadership principles, the Scania Code of Conduct forms the framework in which we operate.
